Peace be upon you..today's entry is about W to the E to the double D, I, N, G..WEDDING!...okay so basically this entry is related to the previous one..still remember the 'seminar srikandi'?..yeap..that is the one...hehe..so what's up for today?...allow me to share a few things that i have collected at the program..its actually the sequel from the previous one..(seminar srikandi - semasa perkahwinan)...for a married couple...buttttt~....the single and solo one also can participate too lehh~..^_^ (please ignore the colloquial accent..)
Why I named this entry as :: The untold tale of what we call 'Wedding' :: ?
Its clear enough that we or to be more specific me, myself, the writer of this blog, the one who has limited capacity to absorb thousands of new knowledge has insufficient knowledge on what wedding is all about..there are still lots to discover..many untold stories to be heard. So that is the reason why i named the entry as it is.. =)
The talk was conducted by Hjh Faizah bt Zainuddin, a syarie'e lawyer from Johor. Her talk was very casual but full with important information regarding Islamic marriage especially in Johor. She owns a firm and she offers consultancy services to those who are in need. That's a little bit about the speaker's background..now lets jump to the discussion..shall we? ^_^
Why Islam advice it's believers to have a proper wedding?
Islam is a religion that bring justice to those who have faith in it..Allah is the Most Merciful..therefore, a proper wedding - complete with the legal wali, the 'rukun nikah', the dowry for the bride and the understanding of the dos and don'ts in marriage are completely essential to whomever wants to get married. This will help the couple-to-be to have a solid preparation before they immerse themselves in the world of marriage.
An engagement call off!!
In Johor's Law of Islamic marriage, a man or a woman can sue their partner in court if their engagement is being called off without any concrete reason according to the court. A man/ woman whose partner has decided to cancel their engagement has the right to demand for the total expenses that they spent for the engagement and also for the wedding's preparation..an advice from Hjh Faizah - keep the receipt of every purchases!..this will come in handy.. =)
Mas kahwin~~~~~ dowry!..
yeay!!^_^v...I just love to talk about this part..ngehehe...why??alaaahhh....I bet all women out their are expert in this...do I really need to talk bout this?seriously? @_@...hee...but since dowry is part of the wedding process, so lets just proceed..wink!..okayyyy..for those who do not know, dowry for Johorian is only RM22.50!...(murahnyerrrrr....kan3....sedih..huhu)...for other states, the dowry is different..so..murah je kan nak kahwin orang johor ni..but that is not all fellas!..Johor is famous with its rules and regulations regarding Islamic wedding...quiet tough ya' know..huhu...so don't take it easy on Johorian ladies..^^,...the couple-to-be must undergo HIV test, able to prove their wali's status i.e birth certificate and the wedding certificate for the woman's family..they must also undergo interview session as part of their preparation for the marriage..susah?hmm...if there is will, there must be a way!..
One?two?three or four?! #Eyh!
This is not some-random-counting-without-intention...this is about the number of wife/wives a guy can have. True, Islam allows polygamy - a man with more than one wife...ladies, love it or hate it.....polygamy is real in Islam...but don't Islam always protect women?..so there are rules that must be followed if a husband wants to have more than one wife. According to Johor's Islamic family act, the husband must get the permission from the current wife and the husband must agree to the terms and conditions made by the wife in order for the court to allow polygamy....if the husband fail to follow the T&C, the first wife can bring this issue in court!..now...be careful guys..we are the modern women..we know the act in law...^^,
Talak?What if i-hate-you-and-i-don't-want-to-be-with-you-ANYMORE?
Briefly, divorce is not encourage in Islam but under certain circumstances, divorce cannot be avoided and to Allah we seek forgiveness..in order to divorce, one must understand the 'rukun talak' - the speaker (husband), the receiver (wife), the saying (lafaz talak). Talak can be categorized in two types, with intention or without intention. If the husband says the talak with intention, the talak is automatically legal..but if the husband says i.e "aku dah tak nak tengok muka kau!" "Keluar dari rumah ni!", etc without intention to divorce the wife, the talak can still be argued/discussed. And women must know their right after being divorced by the husband and also the iddah..
In a nutshell...
Islam is complete...always brings justice to people and Allah is Perfect!..but many are still ignorance about Islam and its rule..many are still blind to see the perfection in Islam..as for me, this small talk by Hjh Faizah has opened my eyes to really understand why Islam is the only way of life..Islam gives rules and solutions..sometimes Allah gives discount..it is us who fail to understand..it is us who are ignorance..
Wedding is just a part of life..we have a lot others..wedding is just an example..how Allah has made a beautiful path for us to follow..and still we sometimes diverge..
